Author: Gina Smith

In the United States, most of the people are suffering from the Lyme Disease and this disease is now growing rapidly in all over the world.

Lyme disease rash occurs due to the tick bite. It seems like an oval shaped reddish circle and a minute dot could be found straight at the center of the rash. The disease is a major concern and so it becomes very important to compare the rash you received with the other known skin rashes that do not relates to the Lyme, which means the ringworm. Ringworm (Tinea) is actually a fugal infection, which the physician must have to test for the fungus. The ringworm can also be treated with the anti-fungal creams. However, the Lyme disease rash is a kind of symptom that makes a person ill, gifting him a disease that makes them sick for some long time.

Most of the doctors do not understand whether it is a lyme disease rash or something else, and due to this, they tell their patients that the infection is of spider bite. So one need to understand the Lyme disease treatment and the symptoms, which will help to get cured soon. Those receive Lyme disease rash must know that it is a major symptom of Lyme disease and will later become risky if not treated on time. The rash may increase, making the area itchy. In fact, in many cases people do not experience any itchiness. Spider bites also give same reaction on the skin just like the Lyme disease, so many gets confused. However, in spider bites, which then leave rashes can be later extremely painful, but a Lyme disease rash never brings any kind of pain to the area.

Unfortunately, the Lyme disease rash occurs in very rare cases and due to that, doctors do not identify the disease at first chance. In general, the appearance of the rash seems like bull's eye. So remember not all of the cases get the same bull's eye appearance. Well, a Lyme disease rash is not all the time could be found at the location of the tick bite. In many cases, the rash has even resulted in misdiagnosis. In one of the case, the size of the rash even became like a quarter or silver dollar. The size of the rash may differ as per the condition. In fact, many people even got more than one rashes on the body that marks with reddish color all over.

In this case, even if the disease is not predictable at on the spot or may take time, one need to start the treatment and get rid out of such evil disease that makes the person irritative due to its itching rashes.

  1. My daughter has a perfect circular rash. How to tell between ringworm and Lyme disease?
She has a perfectly circular rash. The nurse at the Ped’s office said it was probably just excema. But it’s not going away with the lotion she recommended. I have already called for an appointment, but am waiting for a reply. She has no other symptoms, and the ring is itchy. ( I have tried an anti-fungal creme to see if it is ringworm but haven’t seen any progress yet.)
Has anyone seen pictures of Lyme Disease rash?

    • Put the words “Lyme EM rash” into google, and then do an image search. You’ll come up with lots of pictures of Lyme rashes. (The Lyme Disease Association has quite a collection of photos on their site–but their system was hit by lightening a few days ago, and the site is out of commission for a week.) It’s important to recognize that not all Lyme rashes look alike. I recommend that you take a picture of the rash before it fades, for future reference.

  2. Lyme disease symptoms?
i got a mosquito bite and it looked normal at first but it started to get bigger and bigger, it was the biggest mosquito bite i’ve ever seen, it was red and round and itched like crazy. the bump has gone away now and it sort of looks like a bruise, i have been getting headaches the past few days too. my ‘rash’ is not bulls-eye like they say the classic lyme rash is, it just looks like a bruise (but i know i didnt get hit there, it doesnt hurt to touch) mosquitos carry lyme now dont they? does this sound like lyme disease?

    • Typically, Lyme is spread by ticks, though there is some thought that mosquitoes might play a role. That said, there are any number of insect-borne diseases that might contribute to your symptoms. Worth getting checked out.

  3. Do I have Lyme Disease?
Im 15, and I work at a camp. I think I have symptoms of Lyme Disease.
    - Rash, circular, lighter in the center more red on the outside, bumpy and small scabs, underneath my arm.
    - Tired
    - Ankels and knees occasionally hurt

    • My mother in law had it, she had the same symptoms.

I would get to a doctor immediately!! They can treat it with antibiotics I believe if they catch it early enough, although it may take some time to go away fully.

  4. How long do the symptoms of lyme disease last? Can it be cured?
I was diagnosed with lyme disease in ’93. Could I still be having some symptoms now? I know when I went to the doctor after a camping trip, I had the tell-tale bullseye rash. They said it was lyme disease and I think all that they gave me was tetracyclene. Coluld that cure lyme disease?

Here are some ideas to start the healing process. Contacts on the bottom.

Quick Action Steps for Lyme Disease

      1. To help determine if you have Lyme Disease, go to Dr. Burrascano’s symptom checklist (a.k.a. Risk Profile) using the following link: www2.lymenet.org/domino/file.n…

      2. Avoid all alcohol and sugars, all processed and fried foods, all refined flour products, commercial fruit and vegetable juices, artificial sweeteners, and foods that contain hydrogenated oils and trans-fatty acids. Dairy products, caffeine, and non-herbal teas should be consumed sparingly, if at all.

      3. Emphasize a diet of organic, whole foods, with plenty of fresh fruits, complex whole grains, organic free-range meats, poultry, and wild caught fish, and drink an abundance of pure, filtered water.

      4. Also be sure to be tested for food allergies and sensitivities and eliminate all foods for which you test positive.

      5. Useful nutrients include vitamin A, beta-carotene, vitamin B1, biotin, inositol, B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, omega-3 oils, calcium pantothenate, magnesium, and zinc, as well as CoQ10, acidophilus, the amino acid L-carnitine, and thymus gland extract.

      6. Helpful herbs include astragalus, gingko biloba, ginseng, and maitake and reishi mushrooms, as well as cordyceps and Laryx.

      7. Get plenty of rest and learn how to effectively minimize and manage stress.

  5. How long for early lyme detection symptoms to clear?
I began having a bulls-eye rash and lyme disease symptoms (flu-like, mentally spacey and forgetful, moody, reallllly tired) about 10 days after I theorize I was bit by a tick (never saw the tick.) After going to 2 doctors I was diagnosed with lyme and given 6 weeks of antibiotics. What I want to know is how long should I be feeling sick? I’m 2 weeks into my antibiotics and feeling much better, but still very far from feeling like myself. Mostly depressed, lathargic, stiff and unenergetic. I’ve read that some people say 3 days, some say 2 months, some say up to 9 months. Does anyone have any answers? When will I feel like me again?

    • Treatment
thearpy consists of antibiotics. Aspirin helps to reliever joint inflamation. Should feel self again in about 2 to 3 months. good luck and best wishes
